About
The KARAVAN team and our approach to advising on cross-border deals since 2002.
Our approach
Karavan has been working since 2002. We started as a customs broker and customs representative: handling import and export clearance, preparing release-ready document packages, filing electronic declarations, coordinating with bonded warehouses and arranging road and rail shipments. That foundation gave us a practical view of how cargo, paperwork and money move through a deal from contract to close.
Over time the focus shifted from routine brokerage to deals where the standard playbook doesn't apply. Today our strongest work is in tasks that need hand assembly: payment agent under 173-FZ, end-to-end EAEU import, currency control on difficult banks, and the new SPOT regime — security deposit, DOPP and the customs statistical form.
What works today: direct relationships with manufacturers and logistics partners built up over two decades; a reputation for being someone clients want to do a second and third deal with, not just one; and a fully remote format for importers and exporters in Russia, the CIS and Europe. We respond to every enquiry within 1–2 business days, not with a templated acknowledgement.
Team
Customs specialists, international economists and practising foreign-trade lawyers — people who have carried deals through everything from the customs declarations of the early 2000s to SPOT in 2026.
